Pollak Lab
Physiology of the Central Auditory System

Bats use echolocation for capturing prey, but they also employ a rich repertoire of complex sounds for social communication. My lab studies how the brain processes, decodes and represents these signals by recording from single neurons in the bat's auditory system and evaluating how inputs from lower regions act to shape the properties in higher centers.
